Description

The staff of the Michigan Department of Education’s School Nutrition Programs Unit is pleased to announce a three-day training for food service directors/personnel. This comprehensive training is for School Food Authorities (SFAs) and Residential Child Care Institutions (RCCIs) and will cover items the staff must know to be in compliance with all program requirements.

Please plan to attend all three days, as different information will be presented each day.

Day one includes: Meal Patterns, Offer Versus Serve, Production Records, Grains, Product Labels and CACFP and Pre-school Meal Patterns.

Day two includes: Afterschool Snack Program, Smart Snacks, Professional Standards, Food Safety Program, Civil Rights, Special Dietary Needs, Local Wellness Policy and Counting and Claiming.

Day three includes: Application Processing - Benefit Issuance, Direct Certification, Verification, CEP, Resource Management, Procurement, and Other Regulatory Requirements.

Cost: $60 for the three-day training.

Date: August 14, 15 and 16, 2018

Time: 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. – registration each day

8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – training each day

Meals: Lunch will be provided each day.

Cancellations: Cancellations must be made five (5) business days prior to the event to receive a full refund. Registrants who do not cancel (5) business days in advance are responsible for the entire registration fee.

Transfers: Transferring your registration to a different date/location must be completed five (5) business days prior to the event. Transfer requests made after that will not be accepted.

No Shows: If the registrant does not show up for the event and does not send a replacement, the registrant will be responsible for the full registration fee.

Substitutions: Registrants may send someone in their place if they are not able to attend the event.
